congratulations to our vocationalnursing graduates the next thing that i'm going to do isi'm going to read the associate degree nursing student paper mentorsinspiration and and those types of people come throughout life right younever know who they are they're going to be that they could be a faculty memberthey could be a high school teacher they could be your elementary schoolteacher they could be a cousin they could be a nephew there are many people who aren't whoinspire us sometimes that person is someone that'sjust right under your nose somebody that

is near and dear to your heart so pleaselisten up while i read the next paper anyone who knows my mom would describeher as the strongest most resilient generous kind person they know i'venever met anyone who's as close to being a saint as my mother she is a singlemother of four children and she's a registered nurse she is my motivation and role model inlife and in nursing she migrated to the united states withmy siblings and i to start a new life raising four children on your own ashard and she had to do it in an unfamiliar place from what she had knownher entire life

she left everything she knew and withoutany help she managed having to minimum wage jobsraising four children and studying for the rn exam although she graduated from thephilippines with the bachelors in nursing she never practiced my father convincedher to stay at home and take care of us after 15 years she started studying inher car in the middle of the night in between two jobs and being a mother shepassed the nclex on her first try she has achieved the american dream ofowning a home a car and does not have to

worry about money or food she has raised one doctor and threenurses because of her past she taught us to be independent never rely on anyone but yourself toremain open minded and never place yourself in a situation where you're tooafraid to leave if it's the best thing for your family most importantly she showed us how tohave empathy for others and to give back to those who are less fortunate she has ingrained these life values inme especially during difficult times and

that beautiful tribute was written bymicah l bocking yeah next up tonight is our associate degreenursing program student speaker and her name is desirae chim i'm not nervous oranything that's just how fast they teach us to walk in nursing school at alltimes so in nursing school they don't call usa class a class we r divided in two cohorts bydefinition a cold hurt is known as a group of soldiers or warriors little did we know that's exactly whatwe'd be doing fighting quitting was not

an option in this program it was either sink or swim my comradesand i trained for long hours crying studying staying up long nights hurdlingover exam after exam we even overcame our anxiety syringes in hand and evenlearn how to hide from our enemies i mean teachers we've been spilled intofearless nursing students unafraid of what the hospital's have to offer when an l bcc nursing student gets apatient with on c diff on multiple laxatives we suit up and dive right in notliterally but sadly sometimes literally

we all definitely have changed yourloved one your your daughter your son wife husband mom dad sitting up here the differentperson from when they began this program two years ago we've all grown and matured or strongeror smarter and that's probably why many of you come to us what when you read something on em webmdtelling you that you have something serious and we have to say now it's justa cold or please i'm just a nursing student don't text me a picture of thatwe couldn't have done this without our
